What is actually validated
The validator checks the 15-character GSTIN structure, the first two-digit state or territory code and the mathematical GSTIN checksum. It also shows the PAN portion encoded inside the GSTIN.
A valid checksum does not prove that the registration is active. For registration status, legal name or filing details, verify the GSTIN on the official GST portal.
